January 29, 2005 -- SOMETIMES putting the right people together is a thankless task.
Take Lorraine Bracco. While she isn't in Court TV's "The Exonerated," a movie
about the wrongly convicted on death row, she was as proud as a mother hen at its red
carpet premiere. "I put Bob [Balaban, the director] and Henry Schleiff together," she told
PAGE SIX's Lisa Marsh. "I'm the fixer, the project broker." Schleiff, the network's CEO, added,
"She gets the assist — Lorraine was the midwife of 'The Exonerated.' " And the finder's fee for
this tall feat? "She's got unlimited Court TV hats, shirts and magnifying glasses, forever," Schleiff said.

Among those at the screening: BOB BALABAN, the film's director, CHARLES GRODIN,
JUDY COLLINS, LYNN REDGRAVE, and AL FRANKEN in a furry,
Russian-style hat that should be proof he really is a Communist.

Also, LORRAINE BRACCO, whom we found hanging out in a corner with ROBERT KLEIN.
Ever sensible, she had her glasses tucked through a button-hole on her pink vest.

Is she getting ready for a post-"Sopranos" life?

"No, not really," Ms. Bracco said, gesturing to a man with a glass of wine. "That's one of my bosses.
I don't know what's going on. I hope he drinks a little more and adds another seven seasons."
